A quadrilateral is a four-sided polygon with four angles. There are many kinds of quadrilaterals. The five most common types are the parallelogram, the rectangle, the square, the trapezoid, and the rhombus.

Types Of Quadrilaterals & Their properties

 
Rectangle: 4 Right angles and both opposite sides with equal length

Square: 4 right angles and four sides equal in length


Parallelogram: Opposite sides parallel and congruent

Rhombus: All sides congruent


Trapezium: Only one pair of parallel line

 

Another common quadrilateral is a kite, which has 2 pairs of equal adjacent sides.
